My new years resolution 2010 (yes 2010) was to be a better blogger, since that didn't happen I'm shooting for 2011. Not getting a very good start as we are already into February & I'm doing my 1st post. My stamping time begins at 3:30am & stops at 5:30am, no time for photos or to post after that. So working on finding a few more minutes a day to focus on my blog, and a few more minutes to diet & exercise! We just returned from a fabulous trip to Cancun where I realized there are much older, fluffier people wearing much less than I on the beach. I'm still going on a diet, since I spent the last week with more food & drink than is reasonable for one person. My new favorite drink Mohito!

Was it me who said there is no excuse for not posting regularly now that I have better internet? What was wrong with me? Jeepers where does the time go? So I spent an entire day inventing this stationary folio from memory. It was a project that I had found long ago & of course couldn't remember where. You might know the very next day I found a complete tutorial by Julie Griffith. Baby Shower

Hey I'm still here! What a bad blogger. I attended a baby shower for a co-worker last night & of course I wasn't prepared, dangit! So I rushed home after work & did this little bag, with gel pens. (Thanks Barbara) Well the ink was dry enough for me to rush to Target for a little toy & gift card and made it on time.
The kitchen remodel is coming along............the cabinets will be delivered on the 12th, so sheet rock & painting before then. The flooring & tile is selected & will go in after the cabinets, then the new appliances. OH & OF COURSE this all falls about the week I'll be in Wichita for the annual TAC seminar. This morning at least I finalized my card swap design, still need to figure out my special swap, hmmmmmm & something else. I found the CUTEST high top tennys for the sock hop at the convention, they are pink & gold with bling! Hoping that Casey will let me borrow her prom dress & shoes for the banquet. Life is good I know it will all work out. Wishing you all the best, happy stamping.

How did we get to April already?

Jeesh time is just zinging by! I haven't even started on the goals I've set for myself this year. My head is so full of stuff I want to do, plus the things I should be doing, so nothing is getting accomplished. I know that most of you can relate to that with your hectic schedules. The one thing that is saving me is to spend time with my special stamping friends on a regular basis. There is something to be said about maintaining your sanity when you take some time for yourself. Yes I feel guilty, but I do it anyway. I've never been one to have any special friends (Carl has been that for me), I thought that my commitment to family would prevent me from being able to spend time with anyone else. I am so blessed to have found a group of ladies that has released me from myself! You know who you are and I'm thanking each one of you for your friendship, creativity, & inspiration.
So it's a full moon, coming on Easter, & I'm feeling a little guilty that I've not taken the time to appreciate you......my special friends & family who are going through trying times.

These were just to stinkin cute not to CASE! From our fantastical Winter Round-Up in Salina, Connie Duckart made several of these for her swap. Of course hers were full of goodies and super embellished. She was kind enough to give us a quick tutorial so this is my version of her britches basket. Yep my grandkids are getting one for Easter this year! With the snow last Saturday I couldn't make it to my moms house, so I hibernated in my studio & stamped my little heart out. There were several cards from Round-Up that really caught my eye, usually I put them in a special place & don't take the time to make them right away. Well thank goodness for the snow storm as I was toto-ly in my world all day long. I'm headed to Emporia for the crop this Saturday and have already packed WAY to much stuff for one day. Looking forward to stamping with my special friends tonight & again on Thursday.

So this is my Valentines gift from Carl. She is so adorable, however taking away from my stamping time.
She fits inside my little stampin tote now and I bought this special pink bling boa dog purse for future. So she can go everywhere with me!!! (it could be converted into a stamping tote if she really doesn't like it) Anyway after visiting my mom in Salina tomorrow I finally get to attend Heathers crop from 4-midnight. YEAH!! Stamping with my friends. Oh & getting my stuff ready for our Tuesday stamping group party.....swaps, gift, recipe card exchange. AND THEN.....preparing for the Salina winter Round Up the end of March. So much excitement, so little time to get my act together and at least have an idea of what I'm going to do. A fabulous time in San Antonio at The Angel Company Winter Retreat!!! We started with a marathon drive to our destination. Barbara, Heather & I left Manhattan at 6:30 am, stopped in Salina to pick up Lori and off we went...San Antonio or bust. Well there is not enough time to chronicle this adventure, but we arrived at our hotel room at 11 pm that night. Who said this was a 12 hr trip? Not to worry, Barbara & I were up and at the shopping early Thursday morning, then to the Alamo, the river walk for a boat ride, more food, more shopping and finally to stamp at 8pm. TAC put on a fantastical retreat for us. The projects were awesome and the new SERENDIPITY magalogue is so wonderful. Early Friday morning at the opening of the event they aknowledged a number of angels for a variety of achievements. Well they called my name! I had been asked to be a designer for a display board at the retreat. NOT TO BE CONFUSED with being a designer for the Serendipity. So I was so excited, embarrassed, & completely Towanda! Four of my cards were on the display board, and I got to play with some of the new stamp sets before they were released. AND I received this super button, you would have thought they gave me a crown or something! It's really all about the friendships along the way, who wouldn't want to be an Angel? Ask me how you can be a part of a company who allows you to have so much fun with absolutely wonderful people all around the world. "Because Being an Angel is just more FUN!

Simple attempt at scrap booking

Well, I'm forcing myself to scrap book! That is a great thing for me. As a card maker, I'm going to move out of my comfort zone! My friend Dona Deam has always told me that a scrapbook page is just a larger version of a card. Of course she is right, so I'm going to "just do it!" Hopefully on a regular basis I can accomplish this goal. I mean how hard can this challenge be? I only need to focus on one page at a time. Wish me luck!

Well, ok I finally have something to show. This is the card that I did for our Oz-some Christmas
gathering swap on Sunday afternoon. To bad the glitter doesn't show well. I used double stick tape and sprinkled glitter across the middle. The image is stamped on acetate & on ivory CS which was colored in with prisma colored pencils. When you are out of stickles & need a bit of bling......glitter works great. Besides the card swap, dinner, & time with special friends.....we did a gift exchange. I won the beautiful box that Bobbi Schesser did. It is just georgeous!! A photo of that will follow in the next couple days. Time is ticking for the New Year, and closer to our trip to San Antonio the end of January. Woo Hoo! A road trip with the girls! Ethans 1st Birthday weekend

Ethans 1st birthday weekend was wonderful. Hope you enjoy the photos. I've started the make over of my studio. Preparing to paint the ceiling & walls, reorganizing & new Itso cube storage. I am so excited to get it painted! Darn I should have taken before photos. Hopefully I can do in progress and after photos to give you an idea. We've removed 2 huge cabinets which already has opened up the space! This weekends project to be complete before my peeps come on Monday. See you soon.

Playing with punches & Willoughby

My toy for the week has been the smile corner punch. It has created the tags along the edge by removing the slot pieces on each side of the punch. Then using it as it was intended to corner punch the mat for the verse. It's fun to see
how you can use tools differently.
Well the garage sale that we were planning for 2 weeks ago (and saving treasures for more than a year) was canceled indefinitely! Last night we bit the bullet, loaded the truck with the "stuff" and it's off to a 2nd hand store and the Salvation Army. Of course I pulled out some treasures that I couldn't bear to just donate! My dream some day is to have a "Stuff" store. It is definitely not Carls dream so we'll see how that turns out.
We are looking forward to a wonderful weekend with the grandkids. Ethan will celebrate his 1st birthday on Sunday. What fun! Hope you have a wonderful day, happy stampin

Where does the time go? I have been a bad blogger this week!

I sure wish there were more hours in a day! I'm hosting monthly swaps using The Angel Company paper collections. This is my entry for Amberly Grace. By Friday I hope to post the ones I've received from everyone. They are all fabulous of course. There are a few new photos in my gallery of previous samples I've done. Hope you get some inspiration from them. Taking photos at 4am is not the best for someone who needs lessons in photography. The sale at Zeandale last Saturday was so much fun. Ok, this is a crummy picture that I took on the fly out the door this morning. HOWEVER.......After an awesome time at the Emporia crop with my niece Lea last Saturday, of which we took no pictures;( JEESH! Anyway, I took to much time packing you know I thought I had to take everything. So when I got home decided that this has to be condensed if I'm going to be on the road show. These come from Target, you can purchase the cubes & cubbies as you like. I'm thinking of doing a wall of these. I digress. This is just perfect for rolling out of my studio into the dining room when I have get togethers. It holds all of my inventory plus samples. It will fit easily into the car for future crops. Yes, I have set that as a goal for myself to do more of.
About the crop in Emporia! What an awesome group of women. Lea booked 2 parties AND has been invited back for future events. I'm so glad that I got to be a part of her adventure. My whirlwind schedule should settle down after this Saturdays Multi Demonstrator sale at the Zeandale Community Center. There will be fantastic bargains you won't want to miss from 8-4 ish. Zeandale is between Manhattan & Wamego on Highway 18. Hope you can join us for a day of fun & shopping.

Yeah I finally got some quiet time at home on Sunday! I spent the day working on the display boards for Heathers crop this weekend. The boards that she has generously offered to share with me the following weekend. It's funny that the simplest layouts took me all day to complete. Tonight I am off to my Girls Night Out with my group of angels/customers! I'm looking forward to spending time with them. We meet the 1st Monday for a demonstration & 2 make-n-takes, & the 4th Monday for SWM (stamp with me!) Tomorrow is our Kiwanis night, Wednesday Heathers Xmas card buffet, Thursday & Friday preparing for my kids & grandkids. Yikes! Not enough hours in the month to get my stampin quota in! A crop in Emporia on the 20th & our Stampers/Crafters sale on the 27th!!! You won't want to miss the bargains so mark the 27th on your calendar too.

Hey it looks like I'm getting there on placing photos where I want!! Practice, fiddle, & just plain get lucky, that's how it works! Another AHA for me.....do you have family who thinks you have way to much stamping stuff? I certainly do, husband, kids, mother, they just don't get it. I enjoy helping others & organizing. Last night I got to spend quality time with my friend Sharon in her studio. She has recently moved to a wonderful new spacious apartment and is working on unloading & arranging her great stamping space. I took Carl with me!??! He did help us move some desks, & provided pizza for supper. The best part about him being there is he got to see that I am not unique in my passion for everything paper, stamping, & scrapping. Carl is super about what I am doing, he learned long ago that whether he is interested or not he is to say "wow, oh, cool, or something positive" (even if his eyes are glazing over). Sharon is extremely organized....and she shared her organizing methods with Carl. He's a trooper, I think I'll keep him another 27 years!

Wow is time just flying by!! August & September are & have been a whirlwind. I'm so fortunate that I can do most of what needs to be done, some of what I want to get done, & still enjoy what I am doing now. The Angel Company has some awesome specials for the month of September, you just never know what they will have available for us. I'm preparing for a crop with my #1 Angel Baby & niece, Lea on the 20th of September in Emporia. This will be a 1st for both of us, so we are very excited about this opportunity. September 27th will be the oz-some inkin angels sale at the Zeandale Community Center just outside of Manhattan. You won't want to miss the great bargains on overstocked supplies, discontinued stamps & things, and overall cleaning out for most of us. Space is available for those who would like a table, just LMK. Even if you don't get to "sell" your stuff please stop by to check out the bargains. There will be numerous Angels & some others as well.

Don't forget about the September Specials "Fall in Love with Sydney" & the September SOTM. Ok so I'm still learning about the options on blogging, slow but sure. Need to figure out how to align the pictures etc. differently! Any learning moments out there?

Heathers Sketch

Well look at me! This is the first time I've taken the time to actually do something with the card sketch that Heather does each week. Too many things on my list to stop & do the projects. My bad, but such is our crazy schedule. I think that is why I wake up around 3:30 am just to fit in my stamping time. Gotta have it! I'm addicted! I really thought that August schedule was to much, but NOOO! I've committed myself to every night & weekend for the month of September. And still haven't scheduled a funshop for my office. It'll get done I know. This week has been filled with preparing a food booth for The Manhattan Kiwanis club at the Purple Power Play on Poyntz. Last night was a great success, tonight should be even better. If you are in the area stop by for a Taco in a Bag. YUM! The Oz-some Inkin Angels are planning a sale on Sept 27 at the Zeandale Community Center. Tons of bargains, ideas, and just about everything your creative heart could desire. Here is the shoe box project that I provided for the Oz-Some weekend at Living Water Ranch. Thanks to Heather for putting the project sheet together. I just can't say enough times with the right words how awesome this weekend was. I love my husband & family to pieces, but you all come in right at the top of my list of VERY special people. Thanks to all of my stamping buddies for our time together. You are what makes "being an angel more fun".

WE HAD A BLAST!!!!! So much creativity, such good friends, and way to much food! My new angels Bobbi & Judy attended on Saturday amidst a whirlwind of projects.

They look happy though and promised to come back next year to stay the weekend with all of our craziness. Love my peeps!! There are a few photos in my gallery below, more to come.

I only have 1.5 hours till I'm on the road to Heathers Oz-some weekend at Living Water Ranch. I have packed entirely to much stuff for such a short time. Typical of me to take all my toys to play with. This is my entry to the 3D contest. It's made from the stamp box top with the BIA. I was actually trying to scrap lift from someone & of course didn't have what they have so I improvised. See other photos & a hint of the inside in my gallery. That's the name of the game, stamp lift, scrap lift, inspire each other to create. Off to Oz......have a wonderful weekend.

Well, last night was so much fun. I've been in the process of having a sale for quite some time now. Finally "I just did it!" My new Angel Babies stopped by for some shopping & we did a couple make-n-takes as well. Thanks for the inspiration Seleise! We did a 3x3 mini card, these are on my list to do a lot more of!!

So what am I going to do with all the left over "stuff" from my sale last night? Gotta a plan... we are having a regular garage sale Sept. 19 & 20, a crop in Emporia on Sept. 20, and best of all a multi demonstrator sale at the Zeandale Community Center the last Saturday of Sept. or the 1st Saturday in October. Final details for that should be posted the 1st of next week. Out with the old & in with the new....even if it is pre-loved. I hope to post on a regular schedule whatever that will be. Life is short & so busy right now. Have a wonderful weekend!
